2009 Annual Meeting - March 12 - 13, 2009

     2009 Annual Meeting:  The 36th Annual Meeting of the VAE took place in Richmond, Virginia, on March 12 and 13, 2009.  Our Annual Meetings feature presentations on the Virginia and national economies, as well as papers by economists and analysts from across the Commonwealth.  Please see the "Event Program"

     Each year, the highlight of the conference is the
William A. Sandridge Lecture andthe accompanying dinner banquet.  The 2009 Sandridge Lecturer will be Dr. James W. Pease,
professor in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at Virginia Tech.  Dr. Pease's research focuses on agricultural business management, environmental economics, and rural economic development.  (Click  HERE  for Dr. Pease's bio.) The title of his presentation will be "Virginia Biofuels Production:  Policy, Potential, and Economics."
