2010 Annual Meeting - March 4 - 5, 2010
Lynchburg College - Lynchburg, VA

     2010 Annual Meeting:  The 37th Annual Meeting of the VAE will take place in Lynchburg, Virginia, on March 4 and 5, 2010.  Our Annual Meetings feature presentations on the Virginia and national economies, as well as papers by economists and analysts from across the Commonwealth.  Please see the "Event Program"
below for details about the material being presented this year.  


     Each year, the highlight of the conference is the
William A. Sandridge Lecture and the accompanying
dinner.  This year, our Sandridge Lecturer will be
Dr. Marvin Phaup, Professorial Lecturer in Public Policy
and Public Administration at The George Washington
University (in Washington, DC) and Director of the
Federal Budget Reform Initiative at Pew Charitable Trusts.
His presentation will be titled:

"The 'N' Things Wrong (and the '< N' Things Right)
with the Federal Budget."

     After March 2,  registration is only available at the meeting site.  
    Please note that banquet meals cannot be guaranteed with on-site registrations.  


    Parking & Directions:    

     *  Free, on-site parking will be available at Lynchburg College.

      *  Please park in the lot next to "Schewel Hall" (full name of the building is the "Elliot & Rosel Schewel Hall").  Click HERE for map of Lynchburg College that shows the location of Schewel Hall (building #12 on the map) and other buildings on campus.
    
                                     
    Lodging: 

     *  A block of room has been set aside at the Wingate hotel in Lynchburg. The cost is $99 per night plus tax.  To reserve your room at this rate, please call 1-888-WYNDHAM.  Be sure to tell the operator that you are attending the "Virginia Association of Economists" or "VAE" meeting.

     *  Please note:  Even though this hotel is one of the closest to the campus, you will still need to make a 10 minute drive from the hotel to the meeting site.  (Onsite parking will be provided at Lynchburg College.)
